Directions and Parking
The Tufts University Art Gallery is located in The Shirley and Alex
Aidekman Arts Center on Talbot Avenue on the Tufts University Campus
in Medford, MA.
Our mailing address is 40 Talbot Avenue, Medford, MA 02155. However,
we have a second entrance with parking at 15 Lower Campus Road,
Somerville, MA 02144. (This address cannot be found on a GPS).

Parking
Free day-time visitor parking is available in the Jackson Lot,
(look for the colorful GALLERY PARKING banners off Lower Campus
Road). Park at the rear of the lot, between the two Arts Center
signs. Parking is limited to two hours.
Parking is free (and no pass is needed) after 5 pm and during
special daytime events in the lots surrounding the Aidekman Arts
Center, off Lower Campus Road.
Directions
From the North
If you are approaching on Routes 1, 95, 128 or 93, take Route 93
south to Exit 32, Medford Square. From the exit ramp, bear right off
the traffic circle, which is Route 60 west. Immediately pass Medford
City Hall on your left. Continue through first set of lights on
Route 60/Salem Street. At the second set of lights, bear LEFT onto
Main Street, go under the I-93 overpass and come to a Y, bearing to
the right, staying on Main Street. Go a few blocks to the blinking
light at George Street. Turn RIGHT onto George Street and go one
block to College Avenue. Turn LEFT on to College Ave. and proceed up
to the crest of the hill, through the traffic light at Boston Ave.,
and then take your THIRD RIGHT on to Lower Campus Road. Follow the
road a short distance, passing the Granoff Music Center and the
Atrium facade of the Aidekman Arts Center, and the Ellis Oval and
raised tennis courts to your left. At your right, turn into the
parking lot and park anywhere. This is known as the Jackson Lot. See
a stone fountain and large sign with the Gallery's name on it. The
Gallery entrance is immediately inside these doors.
From the Northwest
If you are approaching on Route 2 east, continue on Route 2, past
the junction of Routes 2 and 95. If you are approaching on Route 3,
take Route 95 south to Route 2 east (Exit 29A). At the junction of
Routes 2 and 16, bear left through a full traffic light onto Route
16 East.
Take Route 16 east through two traffic lights. You will see blue
signs on the right for Tufts University. Take a sharp right up the
hill onto Powder House Boulevard (playing fields will be on your
left, and an apartment complex will be on your right). Continue
approximately 1/2 mile, through two traffic lights, and take a left
at the Tufts University sign onto Packard Avenue. Take the second
right onto Professors Row. Follow Professors Row and take a right
onto Latin Way Road. Turn left onto Lower Campus Road. Follow the
road until you see a parking lot on the left (across from the tennis
courts). Enter the Aidekman Arts Center through the door near the
fountain.
From the West or Southwest
If you are approaching on Routes 90 (Massachusetts Turnpike) or 95
take Route 95 north to Route 2 east (Exit 29A). At the junction of
Routes 2 and 16, bear left through a full traffic light on Route 16
east.
Take Route 16 east through two full traffic lights. You will see
blue signs on the right for Tufts University. Take a sharp right up
the hill onto Powder House Boulevard (playing fields will be on your
left, and an apartment complex will be on your right). Continue
approximately 1/2 mile, through two traffic lights, and take a left
at the Tufts University sign onto Packard Avenue. Take the second
right onto Professors Row. Follow Professors Row and take a right
onto Latin Way Road. Turn left onto Lower Campus Road. Follow the
road until you see a parking lot on the left (across from the tennis
courts). Enter the Aidekman Arts Center through the door near the

From the South or Boston
From the South, take I-93 NORTH through the "Big Dig" across the
Zakim Bridge to Exit 31 (marked the Tufts University exit). Turn
left at exit ramp, going under the I-93 overpass. Shortly you will
be at a Y in the road, where there is a gas station; bear RIGHT and
proceed on Main Street a few blocks to the blinking light at George
Street. Turn RIGHT onto George Street and go one block to College
Avenue. Turn LEFT on to College Ave. and proceed up to the crest of
the hill, through the traffic light at Boston Ave., and then take
your SECOND RIGHT on to Lower Campus Road. Follow the road a short
distance, passing the Granoff Music Center and the Atrium facade of
the Aidekman Arts Center, and the Ellis Oval and raised tennis
courts to your left. At your right, turn into the parking lot and
park anywhere. This is known as the Jackson Lot. See a stone

By Subway
Take the Red Line of the MBTA (or "T") in the direction of ALEWIFE
and disembark at the Davis Square (Tufts) station. Choose the
College Ave. exit and turn RIGHT onto College Avenue and walk
approximately 8 minutes to the Powderhouse Rotary, bearing left
around the rotary, on to College Ave. again (the 3rd left out of the
rotary), keeping the playfields on your left. Take the first LEFT
onto Lower Campus Road and walk a short distance past the atrium
facade of the Aidekman Arts Center to the rear entrance parking lot.
See a stone fountain and large sign with the Gallery's name on it.
The Gallery entrance is immediately inside these doors.
Tufts Shuttle
A free shuttle is available between Davis Square (by the Citizen's
Bank ATM) and the Campus Center. Exit the rear of the Campus Center
on Talbot Ave. Proceed left to the Aidekman Arts Center, on your
right.
From the Airport
Exit the airport, following signs to the Sumner Tunnel; go through
the toll and tunnel, following signs for 93 NORTH. Follow the
directions above, coming from the South.
From South Station (Bus/Train
Terminal)
EITHER:
Take the T (subway), following directions above.
OR:
Take a taxi to the Tufts Campus in Medford, and ask to be dropped
off at 40 Talbot Avenue, Aidekman Arts Center, next door to the
Granoff Music Center.
